A city of contrasts, Valencia is a place where
legacies from the past stand side by side with
modern and innovative architecture.
Founded by the Romans in the year 138 BC
Valencia has accumulated enormous cultural
wealth from all who have resided there over the
centuries (Romans, Muslims, Goths).
Today Valencia is also one of the main industrial
centers of the Mediterranean, as well as a major
European congress location. A dynamic and
cosmopolitan sea capital, ideal for commerce and
cultural exchange, Valencia – after hosting the
32nd America’s Cup and its first Formula 1 Grand
Prix last August – has also shown its expertise in
staging important events and has expanded its
tourist potential. This beautiful Mediterranean
city enjoys a mild, temperate climate and offers
an extensive line-up of gastronomic delights,
festivals and cultural events.
